SUMMER INTERN POSITION

 

Communications/Collective Impact

 

The purpose of the Summer Internship Program is to introduce local college students to vast opportunities available within the world of social services.  Interns will learn and grow in a supportive environment through job shadowing, participation in cross-functional teams, mentoring, and hands-on experiences.  Additionally, they’ll work with other interns on a self-selected team project. Through this exchange, interns will be exposed to ways they can directly and positively impact the lives of our community members.

Job Summary

The Communications/Collective Impact intern, supporting the Executive Division, will work with staff to enhance their interest, understanding and skills in communications and community engagement within the social service arena by:

  • Create a communications plan for the Birth to 22 Collective Impact Alliance.
  • Research and create a report on internship opportunities for youth in Palm Beach County.
  • Support CSC sponsored events.
  • Attend collective impact meetings and events and support projects as needed.
  • Support project management, including tracking progress and outcomes.
  • Engage with local stakeholders, partners, and volunteers to foster collaboration.
  • Help with outreach, communication, and social media campaigns to promote community initiatives.

The Communications/Collective Impact Intern will participate in projects related to the Birth to 22: United for Brighter Futures Alliance to identify supports and resources for children and families in Palm Beach County. Birth to 22 is an alliance of Palm Beach County community partners that engages and aligns existing coalitions, networks, systems and youth-serving organizations, as well as connecting families, community members, and most importantly, with local young people directly.

Software/Equipment

Familiarity with commonly used application software: Microsoft Office Program (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Job Qualifications:
Undergraduate (Junior/Senior) student with a major or concentration area in Communications or Human Services.
Strong interest in community development, social justice, and nonprofit work and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for social change. Experience with social media, research, or project management is a plus (but not required).
