One of our flagship products, the HGU-99 Helmet, is currently in production and deployed by the U.S. Navy to protect the hearing of personnel operating in high-noise environments such as aircraft carriers. The HGU-99 is the most advanced solution of its kind on the market, with better hearing protection than any other product available.


Opportunity Overview:


Edare is seeking a Business Strategy Intern - an MBA student or individual with equivalent business education or experience to help evaluate opportunities to expand the reach of the HGU-99 beyond its military origins and into commercial markets.

Location: Lebanon, NH (Hybrid or Remote Options Available)
Duration: Spring/Summer 2025 (Flexible Start/End Dates)
Compensation: Paid Internship (hourly)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive market assessment to identify potential commercial applications for the HGU-99 and similar technologies.
  • Develop market sizing estimates for identified target segments, including industrial, construction, aviation, motorsports, oil and gas, etc.
  • Perform a competitive landscape analysis, identifying key competitors, their offerings, pricing, positioning, and market share.
  • Evaluate regulatory, distribution, and go-to-market considerations for commercial channels.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on target markets and paths to commercialization.

Key Deliverables:

  • Periodic update meetings to report on progress and gather interim feedback/direction
  • Project culminates with the delivery of a final report and presentation to key members of the Edare team, along with its strategic partners, on findings and insights.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • MBA candidate (or equivalent business training/experience), preferably with a focus on strategy, marketing, or product commercialization.
  • Strong analytical and research skills; able to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Experience or interest in industrial or defense-related markets is a plus.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
