Job Summary

The Risk & Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, vendors, and assets within the casino complex. This position oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive risk management and safety programs to mitigate potential hazards, comply with regulatory requirements, and promote a culture of safety awareness. The Risk & Safety Supervisor collaborates closely with cross­ functional teams, including operations, security, Human Resources, facilities management, legal, and compliance, to identify risks, implement preventive measures, and respond effectively to emergencies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
> All Team Members must embrace and deliver Kiowa's Guest Service Standards to every Guest on every shift, as outlined in Orientation, the Team Member Handbook, SOP's, and any other related training.
> Ensure an exceptional level of service and satisfaction is achieved throughout the properties, exceeding the expectations of external and internal Guests alike in a timely and effective manner.
> Conduct regular assessments of potential risks and vulnerabilities within the casino complex, including physical security, operational processes, and environmental factors.
> Utilize advanced risk assessment methodologies, such as scenario analysis and probabilistic risk assessment, to identify and        prioritize key risk areas.
> Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding policies for Property, Casualty, and General Liability insurance.
> Coordinates and submits as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data;
> Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
> Investigates, resolves and responds to all property and liability claims under the direction of the CEO and/or General Manager;
> Partner with the Human Resources department to manage the workers' compensation and incident reporting program.
> Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols and procedures to address identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
> Ensure that each casino complex remains fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and standards, including maintaining accurate injury and illness records as per requirements.
> Develop and deliver training programs for casino employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk
mitigation strategies.
> Provide ongoing education and reinforcement to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountabilityamong all staff members.
> Collaborate with construction teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry
standards.
> Conduct pre-construction safety assessments, site inspections, and ongoing safety audits to identify and address potential hazards.
> Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the maintenance and safe operation of all equipment within the property.
> Evaluate the safety performance of contractors and subcontractors working on-site.
> Review safety plans, permits, and licenses to ensure compliance with regulations and contractual requirements.
> Coordinate and lead incident response efforts in collaboration with relevant departments, including security, facilities management, and compliance.
> Utilize data analytics tools to analyze trends, patterns, and areas of concern related to safety and risk management within the casino complex.
> Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on key safety metrics, incident trends, and risk mitigation efforts.
> Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety protocols, streamline processes, and optimize risk management practices.
> Solicit feedback from employees and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

> High School Diploma/GED is required.
> Bachelor's degree in risk management, occupational health and safety, or a related field or an equivalent combination of the required education and demonstrated experience and two (2) years of experience in risk management and safety roles within construction and/or hospitality or a similar environment (or other alternative deemed appropriate) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:

> OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent is required.
> Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are preferred.
Previous training and presentation experience preferred, primarily in Safety, Health, or Environmental matters.
Strong knowledge of Tribal, State and Federal laws and regulations governing workplace Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
Working knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the laws and regulations governing gaming operations, including Title 31 preferred.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

> Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming License is required.

> 30-Hour General Industry Course.
30-Hour Construction Industry Course.
Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction - Preferred
Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry- Preferred
Recognized training in:
- Fall Protection
- Electrical Safety
Emergency Response
Bloodborne Pathogen
Hazard Communication
Fire Safety and Systems
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Tech (OHST) Designation - Preferred
Food Safe Certification, or equivalent.
Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug test.

While performing the job duties, the employee is required to maneuver in all areas of casino and related entity locations when necessary.  Ability to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the offices and between buildings or properties for the duration of work hours.  Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, including lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, or boxes, up to 35 pounds.   Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color, and symmetry.  Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner.  Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.  Manual dexterity to operate office or other equipment and examine documents, records and files.
