Job Summary
The Lead Security Officer performs the duties of Security Officer, in addition to acting on behalf of the Security Supervisor in their absence and/or assisting in training new officers. Responsible for safeguarding property assets, ensuring the casino environment is safe and secure for patrons and team members, completing reports, inspecting buildings and equipment while securing all access points. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities while maintaining the stability and integrity of our Security department. Communicate with internal departments as needed and promote good team member relations by conducting themselves in a professional manner. Provide superior guest service to guests of our casino. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the organization’s policies and procedures, tribal regulations, and all federal/state laws, as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. All Team Members must embrace and deliver Kiowa’s Guest Service Standards to every Guest on every shift, as outlined in Orientation, the Team Member Handbook, SOP’s, and any other related training.
2. Ensure an exceptional level of service and satisfaction is achieved throughout the properties, exceeding the expectations of external and internal Guests alike in a timely and effective manner.
3. Provide overall protection from, and elimination of, anything that may tend to jeopardize the welfare and security of the company assets, properties, Guests, and Team Members.
4. Stand in as Security Supervisor in their absence.
5. Assist in training new Security Officers.
6. Patrol the buildings and grounds and safeguard the assets of the casino.
7. Enforce gaming regulations included in the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
8. Prepare clear, concise, and complete written accident and incident reports as required by policy/procedure/internal controls.
9. Guard and transport chips, tokens, currency, coins and drop boxes throughout the casino.
10. Observe slot/gaming machine drop and perform poker game and table game drop.
11. Periodically, examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
12. Demonstrate excellent guest service skills, such as the Kiowa U Program skills provided, and cooperate with other Team Members in providing guest information, assistance, and service.
13. Warn violators of rule infractions and apprehend or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
14. Periodically, inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
15. Detect and correct safety and/or security problems that could endanger guests or team members.
16. Sounds alarm or calls police/fire department by telephone in case of emergency.
17. Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
18. Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain orderly flow.
19. Provide information and directions to guests.
20. Appropriately react to incidents and make decisions under stress and/or duress.
21. Maintain a high level of Guest confidentiality.
22. Adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and casino policies and procedures, and to the MICS.
23. Maintain knowledge of special events, hours of operation, and other pertinent information.
24. Perform additional duties or projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• CPR certification and 1 year experience as a Security Officer required.
• Valid Driver’s License and be insurable on the company’s policy.
• 1 year Law Enforcement, Security, Military or Guest Service experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the regulations governing gaming operations preferred.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
• Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming License is required.
• Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
• Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug test.

Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, including lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, or boxes, up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color, and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files. Job may sit, lift, move, carry, and balance heavy objects and involve standing and walking for hours at a time. Confer with Human Resources for additional information, as needed.
