General Description:

Current employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority who have been in their current position for at least six months and have satisfactorily completed their probationary period for the position currently held. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements. Employees currently on the Excessive Use of Sick Leave list will not be considered for this position.

The objective of this position is to verify all data received from Towing & Impoundment into the DLMS system and Auction Database, to ensure proper auction eligibility of vehicles. This information is used to generate all forms, reports, memos, and letters used for the daily operations of the Auction Department. Additionally, this position services customer inquiries

Principal Duties:

  • Verify vehicle information in Auto-Process, DLMS and PennDot Systems.
  • Upload information into the DLMS system.
  • Generate and mail letters notifying owners and lien holders of the auction date and time.
  • Prepare and mail weekly Notice of Entry of Order and Notice of Entry of Final Order letters.
  • Generate Master Sheets for each auction to be attached to Court Orders sent to City Hall.
  • Create and maintain Auction vehicle files.
  • Mark salvage vehicle sales post virtual auctions.
  • Complete Vehicle Title Applications post virtual auctions.
  • Prepare and process vehicle Title Applications through PennDot
  • Attend auctions
  • Print MV-1s, receipts and MV-6s needed for each auction.
  • Maintain office and cleaning supplies at each auction facility.
  • Responsible for archiving and retrieving auction files
  • Handling Impoundment and Auction inquiries from customers
  • Perform related duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Requires organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with time limitations.
  • Must handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Minimum Acceptable Training, Experience, and Education:

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Auto-Process, NCIC, DLMS, and PennDOT experience preferred
  • You will be required to become a Notary Public within six months of hire.

Selection Criteria:

  • 40% - ASSESSMENT TEST, (COMPUTERIZED)
  • 45% - ORAL INTERVIEW,
  • 05% - ATTENDANCE,
  • 10% - LATEST ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

 

Applicants who have at least ten (10) years of service will have four (4) points added to their total score. Applicants who achieve a combined score of36 points from the assessment test, employee evaluation and attendance, based on the weight each category is given, will be invited to the oral interview phase of the process. Only those applicants with a combined total score of 70 will be placed on the eligibility list.
