General Description:
Persons Eligible:
Current employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority who have been in their current position for at least six months, and have satisfactorily completed their probationary period for the position currently held. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements. Employees currently on the Excessive Use of Sick Leave list will not be considered for this position.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Stockroom Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Authority's stockroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating stock movement, ensuring efficient organization, assisting management with contract management, and leading the department to maintain accuracy and efficiency in stockroom processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a well-organized stockroom that supports the operational needs of the Authority
.

Principal Duties:

  1. Customer Service: Provide optimal customer service to internal Authority customers.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock levels, oversee stock replenishment, and conduct regular cycle counts and audits. Provide recommendations to management of new items to keep in stock and remove items no longer needed.
  3. Team Leadership: Supervise stockroom staff, assign tasks, and provide training to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to safety guidelines.
  4. Stockroom Operations: Ensure all products are properly stored, labeled, and accessible, implementing best practices for space utilization.
    • Maintain all equipment in the stockroom.
    • Develop and maintain important outside vendor contact information.
    • Manage printing requests and special print projects for the Authority.
    • Assist management with paper, bottled water, 5-gallon water and managed print services contracts.
    • Coordinate transportation requests.
    • Oversee the receiving, stocking, and distribution of materials to support Authority needs.
  5. Quality Control: Inspect incoming stock for accuracy and damage, resolving any discrepancies promptly.

  6.  Process Optimization: Implement and maintain efficient stockroom processes to improve productivity and workflow.

  7. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records of stock movements, prepare inventory reports, and collaborate with other departments on supply needs. Generate reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and operational efficiency for management review.

  8.  Participate in special projects: Process improvement initiatives, system upgrades, warehouse optimization efforts, or sustainability programs.

  9. Assist in implementing new technologies and best practices to enhance stockroom efficiency and accuracy.

  10. Work cross-functionally with other departments to support company-wide projects and operational improvements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move stock as needed up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Minimum Acceptable Training, Experience, and Education:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. Supervisory experience in inventory control, warehouse, or stockroom management preferred.
  • Procurement experience preferred.

Working Hours: Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Selection Criteria:

  • 20% -ASSESSMENT TEST, {COMPUTERIZED)-SEE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES.
  • 70%- ORAL INTERVIEW - APPLICANTS MUST SCORE AT LEAST 70 POINTS OR HIGHER ON THE ASSESSMENT TEST TO BE ELIGIBLE.
