Strategic Analysis, Inc (SA) is seeking a versatile, skilled Senior Scientist/Engineer to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Health Science Futures PM activities. The ARPA-H mission is to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems.  

Responsibilities: 

1. Assist, support and provide advice to the Program Manager to further the development and progress of new and existing programs. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to conduct thorough scientific evaluation of the current R&D landscape to identify gaps in research portfolios to address critical needs that are aligned with the ARPA-H mission, monitor and track performers progress toward established metrics, be able to read and digest complex information, develop briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.
2. The candidate will be expected to integrate into an existing team to support current ARPA-H efforts and be able to operate independently and in a group environment in support of technical R&D efforts. 
3.The candidate will be tasked to support the development and management of new and existing programs, with particular focus on programmatic construction and management that allows for the successful translation and commercialization of resulting technologies and/or therapies.

Requirements: 

A successful Technical SETA  will incorporate the following skills and experiences:

1. Strong logical and critical thinking skills and be able to critically review scientific and technical data. 
2. Strong PowerPoint and Excell skills, which include proficiency with key board shortcuts and ability to create PPT slides and Excel files on the fly during a meeting in a high-pressure environment. 
3. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Other tasks include some basic administrative tasks such as collecting, sorting, analyzing, and writing Internal programmatic reports/briefings on relevant topics in a health-related field. Some CONUS travel is expected (~10-20%) as needed to fully support the Program and Program Manager.
4.  Previous experience with basic and applied research and prior support to Program Managers in an R&D environment, is preferred.  5. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work outside standard business hours to meet deadlines. Professional curiosity, continuous drive for learning, and the ability to focus on assigned tasks are critical attributes of the ideal candidate.
6. 7.  Ideal candidates will have least four years of buy-side experience working with early – mid venture capital/private equity firms in the biotech/medtech/pharma space, and related business experience working in/for a small-to-medium sized biotech/medtech/pharma company at a senior level (SVP or higher) is a plus.

Qualification Requirements:

    Education
         Masters or  Ph.D required in biomedical engineering, cell biology, cancer biology, molecular oncology, tumor immunology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, gene editing
     Clearance
           HHS, NIH Public Trust (Ability to obtain)
     Experience 
           A minimum of 5+  years working with senior leadership in a professional environment.
