Strategic Analysis is seeking a versatile, skilled Legal Assistant to support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) General Counsel (GC) Office. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to program deliverables. In addition to working well in a team environment, as a successful candidate you will assist GC with providing legal support and services to DARPA clients for all legal matters in support of the DARPA mission and  also assist GC with implementing DARPA's Standards of Conduct (ethics) program.

This support includes the following tasks:

o Perform legal research and writing in support of GC.
o Assist with preparing drafts of legal documents and correspondence in support of GC.
o Assist with all phases of DARPA’s ethics program regarding matters such as financial disclosure reports, ethics inquiries 
from DARPA clients and preparing drafts of routine ethics documents.
o Provide litigation support to GC, including assisting GC with managing litigation and protest files, preparing drafts of 
litigation documents and assisting with document production.
o Provide intellectual property support to GC, including assisting with intellectual property claims and cases against DARPA, 
interacting with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and maintaining GC’s deposit account at the USPTO. Process 
all invention reporting and facilitate patent clearance by administering the iEdison database, review all patent 
documents to ensure compliance, record documents with the USPTO and coordinate GC's clearance with DARPA's 
Contracts Management Office (CMO) or Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
o Assist with providing training, briefings, preparing instructional materials and providing DARPA clients information and 
materials necessary for running an effective legal office.
o Maintain the GC docketing system, work directly with DARPA clients on GC intake/outtake matters and manage all parts of 
GC’s docket management systems.
o Provide administrative support to GC, including processing travel orders and claims, arranging local transportation and 
support services for GC, perform photocopying, scanning and all other types of routine administrative work related to running 
an effective legal office.
o Provide notary services to DARPA clients

Qualification Requirements:

Education
  o Juris Doctorate  
 
Clearance
   o Active DoD Secret Clearance

Experience
Graduate from an ABA-accredited law school with a demonstrated ability to perform work within different areas of law.  Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research, and to draft legal documents which are clear, concise, and logically constructed. Demonstrate experience preparing briefs, developing excel spreadsheets and coordinating meetings. 

Desired skills
 o  Detailed knowledge of DoD report formats and forms is highly desirable.
 o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 o Ability and comfort in working with remote, geographically dispersed team
 o Ability to work with limited direct supervision
 o Detailed-oriented and quick study
