Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree of science in either Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and have 3-5 years’ experience working in an engineering position. The applicant must possess a strong background in mathematics to include geometry, trigonometry, and algebra to perform necessary calculations to meet optical test requirements. Must be self-motivated and have the desire to learn high speed photo optical techniques. Applicant must have a good understanding of Microsoft products including, WORD, EXCEL, VISIO, and the ability to convert documents into other formats. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and will be subjected to a security investigation. Must be able to meet eligibility requirements, obtain and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information. Position may require some early report times, weekends, and TDY assignments.
Desired Qualifications:
Understanding of programs used within the Windows environment and software programming. Knowledge of mathematical calculations integrated with optical instrumentation utilized in high-speed photography operations along with complex systems such as Schlieren and streak photography is highly desirable. Knowledge of camera equipment, lenses, and tracking systems. Experience working in a Test & Evaluation environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and be able to maneuver and work in confined and compact spaces where archived film and documents are stored.
