Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of motor generators, automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves replacing worn or broken parts; accomplishing routine servicing including checking and replacing as required fluids, lubricants, filters, etc. Requires proficiency with normal mechanic tools including hand, power, and pneumatic.
Must have demonstrated satisfactory skills and good performance as an Automotive/Generator Mechanic. Must have three years progressive experience as an Automotive/Generator Mechanic or have graduated from a two year resident course at a vocational institute or a recognized apprenticeship program. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a CDL class A with no restriction endorsement. Applicant selected is required to obtain an ammunition and explosives certification as per IAW ATEC 385-1 chapter 14, Level II and a HAZMAT endorsement within 90 days of hire. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Work will include associated cross-utilization into these and other jobs as required. May require some overtime and weekend work.
