POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performs computer operations in order to receive, query, monitor, download, store, format, reduce, verify, and transfer range collected data.  Verifies, troubleshoots, and validates all equipment, data lines, and cabling within the specific area.  Provides direct mission support to project and government personnel. Implements support requests, patches appropriate systems and networks, communicates with mission personnel, and provides overall mission support setup.

Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher level technicians.  Work must be performed in compliance with configuration controls, accepted practices and work assignments.  Assists and mentors lower level technicians.  Uses initiative and practical experience within established guidelines.  Performs technical tasks with minimal guidance.  Must carry out operations and procedures to discover and resolve issues related to the specific work environment. Must stay abreast of emerging technologies and obtain and maintain mandated certifications, including but not limited to operating systems, applicable software, and information systems utilized within the various work environments. Must properly receive, store, deliver, and transfer classified and unclassified/sensitive materials following prescribed guidelines, with duties including, but not limited to, record keeping, secure storage, and proper destruction of classified and sensitive unclassified media and materials.

Work includes cross-utilization into other jobs as required.  Work requires overtime and weekend work based on mission requirements.  Work requires flexible work schedules including early mornings, weekends, and evenings and is performed with multiple priorities, deadlines, and requirement changes during peak workloads.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years progressive experience with good performance in the specific field in addition to graduation with a two (2) year degree in a relevant field from a university or technical institute, or a total of five (5) years progressive experience in the specific field.  Must be able to perform all tasks required with minimal assistance; including, but not limited to, all computer operations, documentation and administrative functions required to complete requested actions.  Must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of computer, server, and network file systems, including directory organization and file types. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in verifying and validating range collected.    Must be able to demonstrate expertise with the software, systems, data products, and deliverables of the specific work environment.  Must be able to demonstrate understanding of proper handling of classified and sensitive unclassified data.  Must be able to work flexible work schedules, including: long hours and overtime, early mornings, nights, and weekends.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to lift and transport a weight of at least 35 pounds.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience with data products, software, and systems in multiple work environments associated with range collected data.  Experience with digital imagery, image enhancement, video editing, geographic information systems (GIS), data analysis/logging software, and the various file types associated with range collected data.
