SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the building and repair of various structures and equipment throughout the SCHC facilities. Carpenters may be called upon to travel to either clinic to assist in various projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
  2. Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
  3. Builds, dismantles, and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass, and siding as assigned.
  4. Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
  5. Prepares and dismantles scaffolding as needed.
  6. Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  7. May perform painting as needed.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
