Promote the effective and efficient operation of the Mail Center including any and all tasks that relate to the orderly execution of Mail Center functions on a part-time basis.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Pick up mail from the United States Postal Service and within the building.
Operate all mail equipment (postage machines, inserters, tabber, printers, and folders).
Moderate knowledge of United States Postal Service rates, rules and regulations.
Maintain mail equipment in operational condition.
Maintain orderly and efficient work environment.
Perform minor maintenance and repair to equipment.
Be familiar with internal workings and parts of inserting machine.
Work directly with service technician to repair any problems.
Responsible for meeting all inserting deadlines.
Coordinate with Mail Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager to maintain adequate inserting stock and supplies.
Maintain an inventory of mail processing supplies (trays, sleeves, meter ink, meter and tape).
To operate all equipment (mail machines, golf cart, pallet jack, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner.
Comply with the Certified Fleet Operation requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer operating knowledge and experience.
Ability to organize and complete daily work.
Ability to communicate effectively and get along in a team environment.
Basic understanding of USPS rates and requirements.
Available to work rotating shifts.
Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged standing.
Daily bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Use of P.C., telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office or mailroom equipment over six (6) hours per day.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional long, irregular work hours.
Willing to work rotating shifts.
Work to be conducted in mailroom type environment owned or leased by company.
