Production Manager - 145

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Summary:

Reporting to the SVP & General Manager, the Production Manager oversees the running of the aircraft component maintenance and overhaul production and man-hour budgets. This position will manage and lead a group of certified aviation maintenance Cell Leads and clerical support staff to accomplish production for repair, overhaul, and alteration services. The role will be required to ensure a lean culture of continuous improvement is embedded throughout the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure production schedules and work are achievable and clearly understood by direct reports, including but not limited to manpower requirements, managing third party services, and specialized resources to ensure contractual commitments and production targets of the company are met.
• Ensure Takt time and TAT requirements are consistently met.
• Champion and maintain a lean/six sigma approach to all production related activities e.g. visual aids, cells production, point of use inventory
• Meet or exceed budgetary utilization of available hours with regard to work performed.
• Ensure Cost of goods, utilization of production related capital assets and other production related budgetary costs meet or exceed the production plan
• Work with the Quality department to ensure all departments are managed to comply with Federal Regulations and Unical Arizona 145 policies and procedures
• Ensure company procedures and processes are followed in providing finance with all necessary supporting information to allow for accurate and timely preparation and submission of invoices
• Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports and their subordinates to consistently deliver excellence in their undertaking as individuals and team players.
• To ensure commitment and accountability at all levels by maintaining a cohesive organization motivated to meet and exceed expectations. To hire, discipline, and terminate employees as required.
• Ensure proper on-the-job and formal training of department personnel is accomplished for their assigned duties.
• Work with Cell Leads and Quality Department to develop and deploy assessment and training criteria for both “soft” and “hard” skills.
• Ensure all aspects of the department comply with FAA, safety (OSHA), legal and established corporate procedures

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Minimum 8 years of related experience in component maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management position.
• Working experience in process metrics and statistical analysis
• Project management recognized qualifications e.g. prince 2
• Lean principles or Agile principles qualification (or tangible extensive experience)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Aerospace/technical industry experience preferred

Travel:
• May Travel 10% of Time

Language:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasions.
• Carrying, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching.

Working Conditions:
• The environmental characteristic for this position is a commercial aviation repair station and warehouse setting. Candidates should be able to adapt to the environments listed. There may be momentary exposure to high noises, exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents, and Personal Protection Equipment may be required for certain tasks.
