Trade Compliance Auditor/Recordkeeper

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Summary:
The Trade Compliance department is an important piece of Unical Aviation’s international business execution. Candidates will partner with all business functions in a manner that achieves the highest standards of regulatory compliance and the individual objectives of the business. The Trade Compliance department consistently works to implement the compliance program and determine risks associated with international commerce and business operations. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of our exports, including the AES filing, schedule B determination, denied party screening, auditing, and recordkeeping. There is on-the-job training with this position for a strong candidate.

Essential Functions:
• Manage the customs broker overview/audit.
• Handle the recordkeeping for both imports and exports (including export licensing)
• Audit all AES filings to ensure compliance.
• Understand export regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC)
• Effectively perform classification audits (ITAR, EAR, HTS, and Schedule B).
• Audit shipping documentation and follow-up to ensure import and export declarations are completed accurately and timely.
• Work with senior personnel in the review and investigation of incidents to resolve compliance matters.
• Manage the recordkeeping and auditing of our export licenses through SNAP-R
• Run reports in ACE and perform post entry audit activities as well as post export audit activities.
• Identify areas of improvement to implement changes in alignment with compliance guidelines and meet company cost saving initiatives.
• Manage and maintain all classification, entry, and training records.
• Other duties as assigned – support Trade Compliance Specialist and Trade Compliance Manager

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Would like to see 2 years of experience working in trade compliance or related industry (such as transportation)
• Proficient with Microsoft software (Office and Teams)
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient ability to apply regulatory concepts to daily work autonomously.
• Must have auditing expertise, attention to detail, ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
• Must have knowledge of customs import and export.
• Must be willing to work on site.

Knowledge/Skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and self-initiate.
• Ability to use excel at a high level and create charts and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated import/export compliance coordination in a similar industry.
• Knowledge of Foreign Trade Regulations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations.
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS.

Travel:
• There is very little travel required for this position.
