POSITION SUMMARY:
WC Smith is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our team at our team at Park Chelsea, at the Collective in the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard in Washington, DC. This individual will be responsible for the successful execution of maintenance tickets and addressing resident maintenance concerns.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Courteous, helpful, and neat when working in occupied apartment homes
Complete and submit service requests on time and upon completion
Assist in the completion of preventative maintenance schedules of equipment and operating systems
Maintain a working knowledge of troubleshooting solutions and repairs to HVAC systems and heat pumps.
Notify the manager of needed property improvements and necessary maintenance repairs on the property
Assist in turning over vacant apartments for marketability and move-in ready status
Assumes responsibility for after-hour emergencies (on-call) at the direction of the manager
Ensure the property is secure by ensuring building and apartment doors are latched and all locking mechanisms are in working order
Assure a professional appearance by maintaining and wearing the required property uniform at all times
Conduct all work-related activity in strict accordance with Fair Housing Guidelines
Provide exemplary customer service to all residents, prospective residents, guests, and contractors
Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
At least 2 years’ experience in residential property maintenance, or equivalent, such as hotel or hospitality.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance and repair and the tools and equipment used in performing it.
Knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks, tools, and equipment in any of the following areas, as required: plumbing, electricity, locks carpentry, painting, fire alarm panels, landscaping, and plant care.
High school diploma or equivalent desired.
EPA 608 Universal CFC certification required, or the ability to be obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
Experience with compressors and appliance repair a plus.
Pool maintenance certification a plus.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to be on call and work weekends as needed.

Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time (8 hours or more per day)
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: bending, climbing step ladders, lifting, carrying, grasping, gripping, turning, reaching above shoulders, pushing and pulling, climbing stairs; stooping and squatting/kneeling.
Experience working on a class A property preferred.
