Must be at least 21 years old. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field from an accredited university and have one (1) year relevant experience with the target population; or any combination of education and experience to equal eight (8) years.

One (1) year Supervisor experience required.

Certified Peer or Family specialist preferred. 

Extensive knowledge and experience working in a residential setting. Extensive knowledge of community resources and ability to work efficiently with public and private agency professionals.

Broad knowledge of assessment, service planning and service coordination in working with adolescents and families.

Ability to establish an effective professional manner in all dealings with clients and the general public.

Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high moral standards and proper oral/written communication skills.

Must be dependable and flexible with regard to working hours. Ability to follow and carry out written and oral instructions, quickly and accurately.  Must be able to use discretion in all facets of work-related situations. Possess the ability to meet all deadlines while multi-tasking. Broad knowledge and experience in working with adolescents and their families. Must keep abreast of modern techniques and methods used in working with youth in a residential setting.

 



Job Description:

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST: Under the direct supervision of the Program

Director.  Will organize and coordinate all direct services for residential and scattered site  youth in the Transitional Living Program for Young Adults (Casa North).  Will be an onsite supervisor overseeing day to day programming, scheduling, intakes and other related duties as assigned.

JOB CHARACTERISTICS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as good judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies.  Strict adherence is required to all regulation concerning confidentiality.  Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required.  Physical and TB Skin test is required upon hire, and may be required intermittently.  Frequent travel is required by employee and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Inclusive):

  • Will complete all referrals, interviews, and intakes for youth entering into residential services.
  • Will hold primary responsibility for coordinating ALL services and coordinate clinical care for Casa North youth, including assisting with referrals and accessing other needed services.
  • Will provide life and social skills training that address goals specifically in budgeting, resume writing, job interviewing skills, etc.
  • Will oversee and provide as needed Case Management Services consisting of a variety of interventions.
  • Will provide oversight and assistance with identifying and coordinating services and support identified in an individual’s service plan; supporting an individual and family in crisis situations; and providing individual interventions to develop or enhance an individual’s ability to make informed and independent choices.
  • Will develop and implement an Independent Living Plan as needed for each youth which will outline the proposed plan of care.
  • Will review all youth service plans.
  • Will work with the assigned Therapist to develop a comprehensive safety plan for each client as needed.
  • Will coordinate and facilitate treatment team meetings as indicated in the service plan.
  • Will monitor and evaluate the provision of client services on an ongoing basis.
  • Will provide maintenance services for clients that have stabilized and are not in need of intensive services.
  • Will maintain comprehensive client records and generate reports as required.
  • Will perform other duties that directly promote client well-being and self-sufficiency.
  • Will serve in a day to day supervisory role overseeing both Residential Staff and youth in program. Supervisory duties will include, but are not limited to; overseeing staff schedule, responding to day to day crisis calls, advising the Director regarding technical and/or clinical incidents that need to be addressed, ensure policies and procedures are being followed, participate and/or facilitate staff meetings, ensure reports and files are completed and submitted in a timely manner, consult with and take direction from Program Manager.
  • Will participate in meetings as directed by the Program Manager.
