Summary:

MIS DATA SPECIALIST: 

Under the direction of the Program Manager performs technical, data collection and data analysis and oversees the implementation of the Unite Us data base platform for the Bernalillo County and City of Albuquerque programs in the Division.



Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED plus four (4) years of demonstrated experienced working with computers to include general office experience.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in the use of office and word processing software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) is preferred. Ability to quickly learn software specific to the department.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize, work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, organize time effectively, conduct web searches, and identify resources for projects.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to include proofreading and editing.
  • Must be able to use discretion in all facets of work-related situations.
  • Ability to perform all works rapidly and accurately, meeting all deadlines when applicable.
  • Must be able to communicate technical subject matter to end-users in a non-technical manner. Ability to work under time constraints and other demands.
  • Ability to develop methods for intake and prioritization of troubleshooting requests.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Physical demands may involve lifting materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.

Job Characteristics/Physical Demands: 

  • This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies.

     

  • Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality.

     

  • Good general health: Bending, stooping, and/or lifting heavy objects (with or without assistance) is required on occasion during the process of troubleshooting individual workstations. Background to investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. Physical and TB Skin test is required upon hire and may be required intermittently. Travel may be required. Must submit proof of satisfactory car insurance under NM Motor Vehicle requirements.

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities (Not Inclusive): 

  • Provide oversight and management of an on-line relational Unite Us MIS data base on client services, including data entry, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Responsible for entering all child and family referral and service information into the program including but not limited to: referral, intake application, social determinants of health; social services information, etc.
  • Generates reports on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for typing, copying, and distribution of flyers, correspondence, etc.
  • Attend weekly program support meetings.
  • Assist the MIS Manager and Program Manager in managing the South Valley office.
  • Answers telephone calls and transmit messages as needed.
  • Attend all relevant trainings.
  • Assist the application process & provides information to parents & community.
  • Reconciles data on a monthly basis with MIS Manager.
  • Be responsible for the oversight of program compliance with HIPAA regulations to include attending training and providing training to site specific staff on these regulations.
  • Take the lead in data input for programs unable to input on their own.
  • Coordinate services with the YDI IT department as appropriate.
  • Perform tasks to aid in the on-going support of computer users.
  • Participates in writing of reports and documentation of methods and procedures.
  • Develops basic practical information system skills.
  • May conduct analysis of data for reporting, grant writing and quality assurance purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
