Summary:
Clinical Director: 

Plans and oversees treatment and therapies in residential and non-residential clients; oversees all administrative and therapeutic aspects of the clinical program.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • New Mexico licensed or licensed eligible psychiatrist, psychologist, psychologist associate, Licensed Independent Social Worker, Clinical Nurses Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing or Registered Nurse with a Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or a Licensed Independent School Psychologist. A total of 6 year’s experience providing clinical services, 4 of those years must have been providing direct clinical supervision.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-V and diagnostic process.
  • Ability to recognize/identify needs of children, youth, and their families.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of professionalism, behave courteously, efficiently, and effectively in interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to exhibit emotional maturity and good judgment, to include high standards of morals and speech.
  • Effective decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of treatment plan development and implementation.
Job Characteristics/Physical Demands:
  • This position is exempt from overtime provisions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, community residents, parents and local government agencies. Strict adherence is required to all regulation concerning confidentiality.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position. Background investigation to include fingerprinting will be required. TB Skin Test and Physical may be required every five years.
  • Position requires frequent in-state travel. The employee must be able to operate a motor vehicle for work purposes.
  • and proof of satisfactory car insurance is required, as well as maintaining a State issued driver’s license and must be insurable through YDI’s insurance carrier.

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities (Not Inclusive): 

  • Provide a minimum of one hour of face-to-face supervision per week to counseling and community support services staff.
  • Provide a minimum of one hour of face-to-face supervision per month for the Directors of the YDI residential programs (Amistad Crisis Shelter and Casa Hermosa Transitional Living Services).
  • Assists the Vice-President in providing oversight of the YDI residential programs.
  • Provide guidance to the program as to the content and appropriateness of the client’s mental health assessment; service/treatment plans; crisis/safety plans; progress notes, including recommendations for revision, if needed.
  • Provide direct clinical services (assessments) when needed.
  • Review and approve mental health assessments; clinical treatment plans; safety plans and work entered in the electronic medical records system.
  • Provide in-service training to staff.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Director in monthly QA file review.
  • Provide supervision of the Electronic Medical Records System used by YDI’s behavioral health/unit billing systems. This includes ensuring that all appropriate documentation for the billing of services is available for review and meets the requirements of the funding source. The Clinical Director is responsible to review clinical records for contract compliance.
  • Assists the YDI Vice-President in representing YDI’s behavioral health programs at state/city funding meetings; task forces; committees.
  • Assist the Vice-President in providing oversight of all behavioral health program contracts (System of Care; MCO Managed Care; MCO HRA, BHSD; CYFD).
  • Other duties as assigned.
