Summary:

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), plus six months’ experience working with youth or adults.

     

  • Must be able to read and write.

 


Preferred: 

  • Associate degree

  • This is a professional position which requires organizational and communication skills, as well as judgment, tact, and diplomacy in contacts with YDI employees, students and parents.
  • Strict adherence is required to all regulations concerning confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience or skills in effectively exchanging and understanding information, verbally or in writing.
  • Good general health and the ability to lift and carry 55 lbs. are essential.
  • Background investigation to include fingerprinting is required.

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare for lessons by studying lesson plans prepared by the instructor and reviewing relevant textbooks.
  • Provide customized and/or individualized tutoring and assistance to students, helping them improve their comprehension in all or specific subject areas.
  • Answer student questions and address challenges supportively.
  • Assign additional projects to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Assist Instructor with attendance reporting.
  • Schedule and/or administer student assessments at the direction of the instructor.
  • Assist in utilizing, organizing, and safe keeping classroom resources and curricula materials, ensuring materials are readily available at any time in the classroom.
  • Assist Instructor with maintaining classroom orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
